Wine School 101 - How to Taste
One of our friends at Cabrini Wines is an industry icon whose name is Thomas Abruzzini. Those of you who come to the store have probably met Thomas hanging out with us during in-store tasting events and know him as the eclectic gentleman telling stories about his 8,000+ wine bottle museum (his apartment). Thomas is greatly responsible for our American interest in Italian wine because he is the guy responsible for the U.S. importation of both Riunite Lambrusco and Angelo Gaja Barbarescos – among many other producers and wines across this spectrum. Anyway, there is a phrase on his calling card which says, “Taste wine for defects.” This slogan is absolutely apropos when trying to learn how to taste.
